Position risk calculator feature

Despite the growing demand for effective risk management tools in cryptocurrency trading, creating a risk calculator that seamlessly integrates complex financial calculations into a user-friendly interface remains a significant challenge. Many existing solutions do not cater to traders with varying levels of experience, leaving a gap in the market for intuitive tools that can simplify the decision-making process.

The risk calculator in Dust Foundation is a key tool for traders that helps them analyze risks and potential profits from cryptocurrency trades. This feature simplifies the investment decision-making process and allows users to effectively manage their positions, reducing risks amid high market volatility.

In the ever-evolving design environment, dark mode has gained considerable popularity and universal love. But is there a direct need for it, comparing the pros and resources spent.

My role involved designing and developing the risk calculator for the Dust Foundation platform, including creating the user interface and defining key features based on trader needs. I also participated in testing the calculator, gathered user feedback, and implemented improvements to ensure the tool effectively assesses risks and profits.

Wireframes

As part of the development of the risk calculator for Dust Foundation, we created wireframes to clearly define the structure of the interface and its functionality. This process began with identifying the key features that should be included in the calculator, allowing us to visualize how users would interact with the tool.

Creating wireframes enabled us to quickly test ideas and make changes in the early stages of development, which accelerated the process and made it more flexible. Through this process, we concluded that we needed to create two versions of the risk calculator: a simple version for casual users and a pro version for more advanced traders, ensuring that both user groups would have a tailored experience.

User Flow

In the process of developing the risk calculator, we created a user flow to clearly outline the user's journey when interacting with the tool. This flow helped us visualize the key steps, including data entry, risk calculation, and result retrieval. We thoroughly analyzed how users would navigate through the various features to ensure a smooth and logical process.

Find your edge: the benefits of Pro and Basic risk calculators

The basic version of the risk calculator provides users with essential features for inputting parameters such as asset, transaction volume, and entry price, as well as calculating key values, including leveraged trade volume and stop-loss levels. Users can also save their templates, allowing them to easily return to previous calculations.

Maximize your insights: Full-Screen Feature

The full-screen feature in the Dust Foundation risk calculator allows users to make the most of the available screen space, enhancing the visual presentation of data and simplifying interaction with the tool. When activated, the calculator's interface expands to fill the entire screen, hiding navigation elements and other interface components to focus attention on calculations and charts.

TemplatesTemplates in the Dust Foundation risk calculator allow users to save their settings and calculation parameters for future use. This feature significantly streamlines the analysis process, enabling traders to quickly retrieve previous calculations without having to re-enter all the data.Users can create templates for various trading scenarios, such as long or short positions, and customize parameters like transaction volume, entry price, and risk level. Templates help save time and effort while ensuring consistency in analysis, allowing traders to focus on making informed decisions.

Mobile VersionThe mobile version of the Dust Foundation risk calculator provides users with access to the tool's functionality on small-screen devices such as smartphones and tablets. The interface is adapted for easy use, allowing traders to input data, perform calculations, and analyze results anywhere and anytime. The mobile version includes basic features for entering parameters and obtaining calculations, making it suitable for users who need a straightforward tool for risk and profit analysis on the go, offering a convenient and accessible way to manage investments.

Reflection

The development of the Dust Foundation risk calculator has been a valuable learning experience, allowing us to address the needs of both novice and experienced traders. Throughout the process, we focused on creating intuitive features, such as templates and a mobile version, to enhance user experience and accessibility.

The integration of both a basic and pro version enabled us to cater to a wider audience, ensuring that users can choose the level of functionality that best suits their trading style. By analyzing competitor offerings, we identified gaps in the market and incorporated features that set our tool apart. This project not only improved our understanding of user needs but also strengthened our ability to collaborate effectively as a team, ultimately resulting in a robust tool for risk management in cryptocurrency trading.
